Lakefront lots are narrow and deep, driveways are long and often shared, and the tree is frequently between the house and the water with nowhere to drop anything.
Away from the lake, Haslett looks more like the rest of Meridian Township: wooded subdivision lots with mature oak and hickory, and the same oak wilt exposure that shapes our work in Okemos.
On Lake Lansing lots there is often no way to get a truck near the tree. Long shared drives, narrow side yards, seawalls, decks, and boat storage all sit between the road and the work.
